Celestron
Deluxe C-8 Telescope has optics which are hand-figured. It has Starbright XLT high transmission
multicoatings. These include high reflectivity 5-layer enhanced aluminum
mirror coatings, plus magnesium fluoride antireflection coatings on both sides
of the Schmidt corrector lens. These multi-coatings visibly increase contrast
on subtle lunar, planetary, and nebula details when compared with a scope with
standard coatings. They also give you higher light transmission for brighter
deep space images and shorter exposure times during photography.
The Telescope comes with a 7 x 50mm straight-through achromatic finder
scope and mounting bracket. Also standard equipment for Celestron 8"
Telescopes is a removable 1.25Ó visual back that holds visual accessories
such as a star diagonal, tele-extender, etc.
A 25mm Plšssl
eyepiece is provided. Its field of view is 0.59 degrees, almost 20% larger than
the full moon.
The Telescope is equipped
with a Celestron Computerized German rigid equatorial wedge mount with an
advanced electronic drive corrector (Advanced
Astro Master) with Periodic Error Correction (PEC), an easy recording
cycle, three tracking rates including:
Sidereal, Lunar and Solar, a fine correction speed of 0.5X, and a
slewing speed of 8X sidereal rate. This is NOT a ÔGO-TOÕ telescope. The fine
motion hand controller has a fine correction speed of 0.5X and a slewing
speed of 8X sidereal rate. The Hand Control allows fast and slow manual
override of the R.A. tracking speed and operation of the Declination motor,
thereby facilitating time exposure astrophotography, and compensating for any
errors of Polar Alignment or periodic worm drive errors. The electronic drive
corrector is compatible with autoguide CCD systems.
The telescope runs off two 9V alkaline
batteries so the operation is totally cordless and independent of local power
worldwide. AC current or 12V operation is possible using the power adapter
cables which are provided.
